Depending on your needs, that might be sufficient. Note that the only way to use a Sensi without a C-wire is if your system has both heating and cooling. The cycle rate determines how frequently your heating or cooling equipment is run to maintain a particular temperature.
Basically, the thermostat will let the temperature of your home fall or rise a certain amount of degrees before kicking on the heat or cooling to correct the temperature back to your desired setting. A tighter swing range can mean slightly larger energy bills, but it can also mean your system runs more frequently and in shorter bursts than you might prefer.
For cooling, the Honeywell cycle frequency is locked to a maximum of 3 cycles per hour. In a very hot climate, this might not be enough. When we were setting up our Sensi and our Honeywell, we had far fewer troubles during our Sensi setup thanks to a scannable code just snap a pic with your phone and a simplified account creation process. We tried to enter our location manually, but that seemed to break the styling on the website — we ended up with a lot of overlapping text elements and it was borderline unreadable.
We spent about an hour going back and forth between the app trying to set up a location and register the device, and it just never went through. This was such a cumbersome process compared to competitors who let you scan a QR code or just ask for an email address and password for account creation.
Both are white plastic with buttons, but the Sensi looks better, in our opinion. The buttons are sleeker, flatter, and the unit has a sculpted look that feels more modern. Both have LED screens. Both of these thermostats are meant to be controlled primarily through their apps, rather than from the units themselves.
The apps are similarly featured, letting you accomplish the same tasks via your phone: scheduling the thermostat, locking the thermostat to button presses, activating a hold, viewing local weather conditions, and adjusting system settings.
Setting up a schedule and editing existing schedules is the bread and butter of thermostat apps. Both the Sensi app and the Honeywell app made this easy to do, letting you copy and paste a schedule from one day to another, or letting you schedule several days at once. The Honeywell thermostat and app seem to assume you live a typical schedule of waking, leaving for the day, returning home, and going to bed.
It also supports geofencing as an alternative to setting a rigid schedule. The most noticeable irritation with the Sensi is the audible clicking sound it makes when the thermostat calls for heating or cooling. Note that some people are better at ignoring the click than others. The Emerson Sensi ST55 is our pick. The only real downside is the audible click it makes when calling for heating or cooling, but depending on where your thermostat is located, you may never even notice.

Anyways, it works great, but have one concern. We have it set to 70'. Well the thermostat kicks in every 10 or 15 mins, and runs for about 3 or 4 minutes. I read on Honeywell's website that a normal cycle rate is around 6 per hour. So I guess I shouldn't be too concerned, but I still wonder if this is normal.
I've been timing it the past few times.
It kicks in at pm and runs until Then it kicks in again at and runs until Then again at and runs untiland so on. I tried to find a way of setting the degree difference within the thermostat, but couldn't find any setting for that. Any advice? Or shouldn't I worry?

I installed a good quality White Rodgers t-stat and never had another cycling problem. Quality has gone down hill real fast in the last few years.
You can change the cycle per hour. Look in the owners manaul. I would set it to 3 cycle per hour. You may have a Honeywell Chronotherm thermostat that has 2 cycling settings: 6 cycles per hour and 3 cycles per hour. I downloaded installation instructions from Honeywell's website and discovered how to set it to 3 cycles per hour. Thats why i prefer Robertshaws SaverStat modelover Honneywell. I have installed thousands of White Rodgers thermostats and have had the least callbacks from them and they are the longest lasting. Check out the 1F 86 series. Best bang for the buck.
